Initially written and recorded as a direct response to "playing too much guitar", the collection of songs that made up "Hungry Gods", which is the second full-length instrumental album from the Aqualung artist BETA RAT, was what started everything for the guitarist-turned-"synth-ist". While serving as a followup to the 2018 release "GYMNASTY!", the songs on "Hungry Gods" are a little less '80s and a little bit darker at times. Listeners will notice a grittier bass-centric tone throughout the 9 songs that remain instrumental.
